Our Little World

When I look out to the mountains or down through the valley or up in the sky our little world seems very, very big.  When I look out to the mountains or down through the valley or up in the sky our little world seems very, very empty.

There are almost 7 billion people on earth, about 120 people on average per square mile.  North America holds about 8% of those people, over 500 million and about 3 out of 5 of those people live in the United States.  California has almost 37 million people in it, 12% of the United States.  Sierra County has a population of just over 3 thousand, .01% of Californians and 3 people per square mile.  And our little town has about 3 hundred humans, 0.000005% of the world's population, not many.
